My name is Lydia Shelly.
I’m a lawyer and Vice President of the Nsw Council for Civil Liberties.
I am definitely not a professional runner!
If you’re like me, you will be feeling helpless about the humanitarian catastrophe in Palestine.
Innocent civilians have been restricted from food, water, medical supplies and medical attention, fue and safe passage.
The United Nations has warned us that there is a risk of ethnic cleansing occurring right now.
The situation for women and children is especially dire.
Over 50,000 women a currently pregnant in Gaza.
Over 5522 women are expected to give birth next month in Gaza.
But you can be part of AusRelief’s campaign to provide immediate aid to innocent civilians once aid is permitted back into Palestine.
I plan to run 80km from Bondi to Manly on Saturday 28 October 2023 to raise funds for Palestine.
80km is roughly the distance from Gaza to the Rafah Crossing and back again (with a few extra kms thrown in for good measure).
AusRelief is a registered Australian charity that has long-standing relationships with aid organizations and individuals in Palestine.
