In times of global crisis, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed — but real change begins when we move from empathy to action.
Gaza’s infrastructure has been devastated, with 92% of homes damaged or destroyed and 90% of the population (1.9 million people) displaced. Families have lost not only their homes, but their sense of safety and dignity.
A House of Hope invites young Australians to become part of the solution — to reimagine what shelter means and help restore dignity to families in Gaza.
This is more than a competition. It’s a call for compassion-driven design, where creativity meets purpose.
The Challenge
We are calling on high school and university learners across Australia to design a compact, dignified home for displaced families in Gaza.
Your task:
- Learn about the humanitarian housing crisis
- Design a solution that is safe, sustainable, and culturally sensitive
- Submit a digital plan or physical model that restores hope and dignity
- Win recognition, mentorship, and up to $10,000 in prizes
This is your chance to stand up for humanity and turn compassion into action.

- Sustainable and weather-resilient
- Quickly relocatable in emergencies
- Accessible for people with disabilities
