AusRelief is a proud supporter of Australian families that is dedicated to providing food and hygiene to families most at risk to various communities.
The Grocery Drive program is an initiative that allows the public to donate non-perishable items into our AusRelief charity boxes located at several Coles and Woolworths supermarkets.
Our donation drive has been operating for many years contributing support not only to other community organisations but to local schools who are identified as low-socio economic. We have a strong relationship with Welfare Officers and Schools as Community Centres (SCC) that refer and identify families to receive family food packs every month. This allows for a completely transparent and thorough selection system which in turn targets and identifies vulnerable families by the school as they understand what their community needs are.
The donation boxes are allocated at various Coles and Woolworths stores where customers are given the opportunity to donate essential non-perishable items. These items are then distributed to families, schools as well as organisations that offer support to those most in need.
All donations are stored at our local warehouse where volunteers pack, sort and deliver grocery packs. Families will receive one essential bag and one non-essential bag. The following is a description of what each food pack includes:
Essential Packs
- Cereal
- Rice
- Milk
- Pasta
- Legumes
- Canned fruit and vegetables
- Canned Fish (tuna)
- Soup
- Cooking Sauce
