In Turkey, 3,630,767 refugees live in 20 camps near the southern border, with the 3 largest camps based in Gaziantep, Hatay and Sanliurfa.
Another 2,500,000 unregistered refugees move of their own accord around the rest of the country.
These numbers are staggering and go against the notion that refugees have returned.
Refugee children are still most at risk and while our food and medical care programs are ongoing, our priority is the mental health and safety of children.
Although we can temporarily secure a child’s environment and interact with them (with drawing, writing, talking, or play), some children do not respond and the intervention of mental health professionals is essential.
We need your help to expand our reach.
